Middle Group Teacher

Deb Lemaire

Deb is a patient and compassionate educator. She likes to work closely with colleagues and parents to foster an inviting, interesting, and community-based learning environment. She believes children have an innate desire to learn, yet realizing this desire does not have a one-size-fits-all solution. Deb provides a blend of teaching philosophies and adjusts when needed to meet students at their immediate level of development. Deb holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies: Children, Families and Society and BS in Early Childhood Education from MCLA. She has been teaching for six years with experience split between public school and progressive outdoor education. Deb is committed to providing emotional security, offering choice and agency in learning and fostering a connection with nature for the students at Southshire Community School. She lives in Williamstown, MA, with her husband and two active, outgoing boys. Deb and her family love to garden, hike, play sports, and explore rivers and lakes.
